From pregnancy through the first year
Amsterdam's postpartum experts and parents, together. A support system for your whole family through your baby's first year.
When your kraamzorg and midwife move on, we step in to bridge the gap between expert and peer guidance through early parenthood. We built the support so you don't have to — all you have to do is show up.
The program is a community labor of love from local parents and postpartum experts. It's built by psychologists, lactation consultants, return-to-work specialists, postpartum coaches, and more, plus the founders of APP — who stood up this whole organization in the first place because they felt this support gap firsthand with their babies.
During pregnancy
You commit to joining, and we help you start building your village during pregnancy. Get immediate access to 1:1 matching, the private WhatsApp group, and our first resource guide on Dutch postpartum care — all free (via refundable deposit) until your baby's due date.

The program begins
You join the monthly program with the people you've already been building connections with — 1:1 match, group chat, expert discussions, socials, and resource guides. Even if your baby comes late, the information is still valuable: a place to ask all the questions.
Keep going
Our topics are designed to evolve as your baby grows — and as your experience as parents deepens. New perspectives, challenges, and questions emerge every month. Continue getting support for as long as you want, up until your baby is 12 months old.
We've all heard the phrase "It takes a village." For new parents — especially expats becoming parents abroad — the village doesn't come without effort. But where to start? We cover local Dutch postpartum care and end with an exercise on finding and filling gaps in support, so you're not starting from scratch when you need it most.
We'll walk around Vondelpark with babies in tow, then settle in at Groot Melkhuis for coffee and conversation — a low-key way to get outside and get to know the group.
You've got the basics of breastfeeding and/or bottle-feeding down. Now you're wondering: "How can we possibly keep doing this for the next 6 months?" Learn our inclusive approach to feeding that grows with you and your baby — so that mom, dad/partner, and baby all get what they need in this special yet intense time.
Papote Café's back room is built for exactly this: soft mats, toys, and space to let your baby explore, while we talk through developmentally appropriate play for this stage.
Birth and the first year reshape both parents' bodies and minds in ways that go far beyond "bouncing back." We explore the permanent physical changes after birth alongside the emotional and identity shifts of new parenthood — including matrescence and patrescence — and offer practical ways to navigate your evolving self with compassion.
A warm, singing circle for the whole family — a safe space to show up as you are and process parenthood together through shared harmonies. Little ones are free to crawl, play, nap, or simply take in the sound of the group singing around them.
When two people with different backgrounds become parents together, their childhoods show up — often unexpectedly. From language and sleep to discipline and family roles, cultural differences surface in the day-to-day of new parenthood. We help you identify where they come from and how to build a shared parenting culture that works for your new family.
We'll gather in the library's children's section for a relaxed reading session, then talk through newborn-appropriate books and raising a multilingual child.
No relationship is unchanged by a baby. Intimacy, communication, equal parenting, and emotional connection all shift — and often in ways that feel surprising or isolating. We identify what's normal, what's worth addressing, and how to build a stronger partnership through one of life's biggest transitions.
We've designed a newborn-friendly, parent-enriching tour of the Rijksmuseum's Gallery of Honor for the program! The tour is flexible to meet your family's needs, allowing you to step out to feed or change your baby. After the tour, we'll head to the cafe for a chat.
Let's talk about what happens when the newborn bubble pops. We cover the transition back to work and life post-newborn: joys, challenges, and techniques to manage mental load and reduce parental/professional burnout — so you can feel confident and capable growing as a parent alongside your growing baby.
We'll swap what works to get your baby to sleep — your favorite lullaby, white-noise track, or shushing trick that works magic on them — while a certified sleep coach takes your bedtime routine and infant sleep questions.
Socials happen in person across Amsterdam. Expert sessions take place online so that you don't have to leave the house to get expert support — right when and where you need it.
